Patrick Steven Scott

Services for Patrick Steven Scott, 22, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church in Lufkin with Mr. Clay Walker and Reverend D. Nick Sholars officiating. The family will receive friends in the Youth Worship Center following the service. Interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Fenton Cemetery in Cushing.

Patrick was born June 30, 1988 in Lufkin, Texas to Joy (Rawlinson) and Steven Gordon Scott, and died Sunday, May 15, 2011 in Lufkin, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Patrick was a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Lufkin High School in 2006. He was a member of the National Honor Society and a Lufkin Panther football player. Patrick was an offensive lineman, #77, on the Lufkin Panther football team, which advanced to the State Semi-Finals in 2005 and 2006. Patrick earned the Eagle Scout Award in 2006. He attended the University of Texas in Austin and the Austin Community College, majoring in Marketing and Communications. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Lufkin and the Oasis Student Ministry.

Survivors include his parents, Joy and Steve Killam of Lufkin; brothers, Adam Michael Scott and fiancée Tashina Gaye of Lufkin; Luke Ryan Scott of Crystal Beach, Ben Killam, Grider Killam, both of Huntington and Sgt. Zach Button, U.S. Army and wife Emily of Ft. Mead, Maryland; grandparents, Ray and Bettie Scott of Lufkin and Wilton and Bonnie Killam of Lufkin; aunts and uncles, MaryAnn Mueller of Galveston, Susan and Terry Morgan, Julie Scott, all of Lufkin, Gayla Rawlinson of Houston and Michael and Yvette Rawlinson of San Antonio; cousins, Jennifer Treadwell of Fort Worth, Sarah Morgan, Scott Morgan, Jackson Treadwell, all of Lufkin, Robert and Jill Mueller of Allen, Eric Mueller of Galveston and Anneke Rawlinson of San Antonio; special friend, Hannah Mayo of Kerrville; and stepmother, Lisa Scott of Crystal Beach.

He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Gordon Scott; grandparents, Perry and Marie Rawlinson; and cousin, Christian Rawlinson.

Pallbearers will be Matt Mooman, Michael Bradley, Cade Tullos, Derrick Holland, Mark Lognion, Jr., Kyle Robertson, Jacob Anderson, Bryce Malone and Zachary Childers.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Patrick Scott Scholarship Fund at the First United Methodist Church of Lufkin, 805 East Denman Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
