Faye Hollingsworth Mcgilbery

Funeral services for Faye McGilbery, 84, of Diboll will be held Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Reverend Karl Smith and Brother Josh Reneau officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery.
Mrs. McGilbery was born September 18, 1926 in Zavalla, Texas to the late Becky (Shives) and Andrew Jackson Hollingsworth, and died Thursday, May 19, 2011 in Diboll, Texas.
Mrs. McGilbery had resided in Diboll for 34 years and was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Lufkin. She was very outgoing and never met a stranger. She deeply loved everyone she met, and they loved her back. She was always very happy and had a wonderful laugh. She loved to travel and visit family and friends, especially her great grandchildren. She always looked forward to cooking special food for her family. Mrs. McGilbery was ""one of a kind,"" and will be deeply missed and will be in our hearts forever.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Sheila and Joe Hargis of Diboll and Sue Strickland of Brazoria; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Jhonnie McGilbery of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren and their spouses, Chad and Cherie Polasek of Lufkin, Holly and Mark Romero of Sweeny, Shelly Brice of Fort Worth, Misty and Spencer Harris of Lake Jackson, April and Mark Ketelsleger of Edmond, Oklahoma, Clint and Morgan Williamson of Freeport, and A.J. and Amber McGilbery of Stillwater, Oklahoma; thirteen great grandchildren and another one on the way; a great-great granddaughter on the way, Brylie Shayne Polasek; sister and brother-in-law, Mary and George Cryer of Zavalla; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Hazel and Harold DeVries of Lufkin; special friends, Willie and Lavern Wade and the staff at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McGilbery was preceded in death by her husband, James McGilbery; son-in-law, Shawn Strickland; brother, Buster Hollingsworth; and sisters, Sadie Ashby, Myrtle Page, Vela Harrington and Mozelle Quave.
Pallbearers will be Chad Polasek, Jared Polasek, Joe Polasek, Clint Williamson, George Cryer and Willie Wade.
Honorary pallbearers will be A.J. McGilbery, Colby Polasek, Karston Ketelsleger and Colton McGilbery.
The family would like to thank the staffs at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab and Hospice in the Pines for all their loving care of our precious Mother.
