Ramiro Mijares Lopez

Funeral services for Ramiro Mijares Lopez, 56, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Emanuel Assembly of God Church, 1818 North Timberland Drive, Lufkin, with Reverend Ruben Luna officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mr. Lopez was born November 12, 1954 in Casa Grande, Arizona to the late Rosa Mijares and Jesus Flores Lopez. He died Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in the Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Mr. Lopez had lived in Lufkin for the past 39 years, and was a truck driver for Joyeria Ramirez. He was a member of Emanuel Assembly of God Church, where he served as a musician in the Church. He also was a mentor to some of the young men in the Church, teaching them to play the guitar. Mr. Lopez had learned how to play the guitar at the age of 12. His hobbies were jogging and weight lifting.
Mr. Lopez is survived by his wife, Ana Lopez of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Jonathon Pinner of Huntington; son, Kris Lopez of Lufkin; granddaughter, Mallorie A. Pinner of Huntington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jesus, Jr., and Paulina Lopez of Lufkin, Robert and Lori Lopez of Dallas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Leticia and Arturo Hernandez, Yolanda and Keith McClelland, all of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mr. Lopez was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers will be Art Hernandez, Ricky Hernandez, Tony Lopez, Aaron Ramirez, Cesar Rodrigues, Jr., Rolando Ordaz, Jr., Damian Nicolas and Abimael Duran.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Lopez, Jesus Lopez, Jr., Arturo Hernandez and Keith McClelland.
