Funeral services for Elsie Mae Foster Hughes, 83, of Point Blank will be held Monday, May 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Betty Ann Wells officiating. Interment will follow in the Freeman Cemetery.

Mrs. Hughes was born October 31, 1927 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Florence (Nash) and Daniel Woodson Foster, and died Friday, May 27, 2011 at her residence. A longtime resident of Lufkin, she had resided in Point Blank for 17 years. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed sewing and knitting.

Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Danny Whitley, Robert Whitley, both of Corrigan, and Randall and Donna Hughes of Waxahachie; daughter, Patricia Gibson of Nederland; daughter-in-law, Wanda Whitley of Corrigan; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Jack Hughes; and son, John L. Whitley.

Pallbearers will be Billy Whitley, John Wayne Whitley, Robert Grimes, Donavan Hughes, Brad Stone and Orin Pinner.

Honorary pallbearers will be George Atkeson, Janice Kinman, Ray Kilsby, Ronnie Hughes and Hunter Whitley.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
