Lonnie ""Pete"" Jackson, Jr., 64, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, educator and friend, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 12, 2011. Pete was born the son of Lonnie, Sr. and Dollie Jackson, January 25, 1947 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie, Sr. and Dollie Jackson. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Pat Jackson of Nacogdoches; daughters and sons-in-law, Tracie and Lane Kruse, and Trina and John Barron; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Brittany and Roland Davis; and great-grandson, Bryson Davis, all of Nacogdoches.
Pete was a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, where he received his Bachelor?s and Master?s Degree in Education and School Administration. He served throughout many of the East Texas School Districts as teacher, coach, principal and superintendent. He took pride in always putting the students and staff first.
Completing his lifelong love of education and teaching others, his final wishes were honored in donating his body for research in the area of Lethal Midline Granuloma (NK-T Cell Lymphoma), an extremely rare form of cancer.
There will be a private memorial and graveside service to be conducted at a later date. In lieu of customary remembrances or flowers, please donate to Gallatin Missionary Baptist Church, 202 Chandler Street, Gallatin, Texas 75764 or Salem Baptist Church, 963 Ralph Nerren Road, Huntington, Texas 75949.
