Funeral services for Linda ""Nana"" Baker McBroom, 66, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend William Mills officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Mrs. McBroom was born November 4, 1944 in Lufkin, Texas to Fay (Willmon) and Bennie Baker, and died Sunday, June 12, 2011 in a Houston hospital.
Mrs. McBroom was a lifetime resident of Angelina County, and a 1963 graduate of Hudson High School. She had worked for Candy Royal Daycare, Angelina Christian School, Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, Tot Teen Clothing Store, and Canon & Parker Department Store, where she was manager of the children?s department.
Mrs. McBroom was a lifetime member of the Assembly of God Church and a media church member of The Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a Jimmy Swaggart ministry. She attended the Victory Assembly of God Church.
Mrs. McBroom enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and was looking forward to the birth of her great-grandson Adryan next month. She loved listening to gospel music, especially Jimmy Swaggart Family Worship Center music. She was an avid fisherman and Texas Longhorns fan. Her cooking was second to none, according to her husband Tommy, and she had enjoyed cooking Wednesday night meals for Lufkin?s First Assembly of God with Margaret Purke.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 47 years, Thomas McBroom; daughter and son-in-law, Jill and David Blalock; granddaughter and husband, MacKenzie and Junior Escobedo; great-granddaughter, Allyssia Escobedo; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and Dennis Norton; aunt, Mary Willmon; uncle, Joe Willmon; sisters-in-law, Ruth Conway, Martha Savannah Witt and Josephine Watkins and husband Charles; brothers-in-law, Olan McBroom and wife Dee, C.J. McBroom and wife Elizabeth and Ruben McBroom; special friend, Tanya Anthony; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McBroom was preceded in death by her grandparents, LeRoy and Addie Willmon and Ben and Georgia Baker.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
