Funeral services for Betty ""Pansy"" Joplin, 83, of Redland will be held Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Andrew G. Pittman officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Cemetery.

Mrs. Joplin was born September 10, 1927 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Hettie Mae (Jordan) and Willie Brown. She died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Joplin was a retired Food Service Manager for Lufkin I.S.D. She loved cooking, sewing and gardening. Mrs. Joplin had resided in the Redland/Lufkin area all her life.

She is survived by her husband, Robert L. Joplin of Redland; daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Arthur Belvin of Spring and Ailene and Robert Martinez of Pleasure Island; and grandchildren, Christopher O?Brien of Dennison, Jordan Belvin and Connor Belvin, both of Spring.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Daisy McGuire, and Berniece ""Susie"" Basham; and brothers, Willie J. Brown and Dan Brown.

Pallbearers will be Klint Hensley, Christopher O?Brien, Billy McGuire, Byron Williams, Connor Belvin and Randy Stephens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
