John Michael Withem

Funeral services for John Michael Withem, 46, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John K. Withem and Reverend Steve Rushing officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.

Mr. Withem was born November 23, 1964 in Texarkana, Texas, and went to be with his Savior Sunday, June 26, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mr. Withem had resided in Lufkin for 28 years and worked for Polk Oil Co. for more than 20 years. He was baptized May 12, 1974 and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Withem was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and son. He was a very talented craftsman, mechanic, or anything he set his mind to! Mr. Withem loved to fish and more especially loved his dogs. He enjoyed life to the fullest, and fought a very courageous battle with cancer.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Washington Withem of Lufkin; daughters, Rachael Withem of Lufkin and Heather Withem of College Station; son, Jon Dru Withem of Lufkin; grandchildren, Reagan Dwire and Caley Dwire; parents, Reverend John K. and Helen Withem of Nacogdoches; sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Scott Robinson of Montgomery; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Lacye Withem of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be John Daniels, Johnny Davidson, Mark Withem, Scott Robinson, Geoffrey Washington, David Washington, Johnny ""Bubba"" Davidson, Jr. and Tom Berry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cliff Davis, Bo Yates, Tony Spivey and Jimmy Daniels.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
