Lorene Pruett Daughtry

Graveside services for Lorene Pruett Daughtry, 85, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, June 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Whitehouse Cemetery with Chaplain David ""Doc"" Akery officiating.

Mrs. Daughtry was born October 31, 1925 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Aline (Blotin) and Bert Lee Pruett, and died Monday, June 27, 2011 in a local nursing home. She was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and was a retired bookkeeper. Mrs. Daughtry enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Lola Daughtry of Connecticut; granddaughters, D?Nette Daughtry of Mesquite, Tesha Cook and spouse Terri Lynn Mayer of Livingston; grandson, Trey Daughtry and spouse Dawn Cummings of Lufkin; great-grandsons, Stephen Cook of Livingston and Ethan Daughtry of Lufkin; great-granddaughters, Macie Daughtry of Lufkin and Amber McCarthy of Livingston; brother, Paul Pruett of Lufkin; sister, Lois Ruth Taylor and husband George of Lufkin; nephews, Monroe Scott Taylor and Jeff Taylor, both of Lufkin; and a number of other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Daughtry was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Sanders Daughtry; and daughter, Debra Aline Daughtry.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
