Elmo Harold Williams

Funeral services for Elmo Harold Williams, 75, of Lufkin will be held Friday, July 1, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Keith Woolf officiating. Interment will follow in the Berry Cemetery.

Mr. Williams was born May 2, 1936 in San Augustine, Texas to the late Florence (Townsend) and Elmo Williams, and died Monday, June 27, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mr. Williams was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and retired from the City of Lufkin Fire Department following 29 years of service as a firefighter. Mr. Williams was a member of the Lufkin Shrine Club and the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, loved hanging out with his ""bestest"" friend Ryder, and loved his family and his dogs. Mr. Williams was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Betty S. Williams; children, David Washington and wife Sandy, Felicia Williams, Jeff Williams and wife June, Bonita Davidson and husband Johnny, Patricia Washington Withem and the late John Withem, and Harold Williams and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Ashley Daniels, Johnny Davidson, Jr., Misty Struthers, Crystal Renfro, Geoffrey Washington, Amanda Washington, Megan Williams, Jeffrey Williams, Jr., Cody Williams, Cara Williams, Heather Withem, Rachael Withem, John Dru Withem, Mikayla Mitchell and Jessica Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Blaine Daniels, Ryder Daniels, Zachary Tobias, Chelsea Tobias, Brayden Renfro, Bryleigh Williams, Morgan Struthers, Haley Struthers and Brody Nicks; and half-sister, Mildred Gordon.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Williams, Jr., Cody Williams, Johnny Davidson, Jr., Geoffrey Washington, Stoney Bryan, John Daniels and Ricky Bryan.

Honorary pallbearers will be the City of Lufkin Firemen.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 South Raguet Street, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
