Roy Dale Hobbs

Memorial services for Roy Dale Hobbs, 76, of Lufkin, will be held Friday, August 26, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul?s United Methodist Church with Reverend Steve Killiam officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Hobbs was born May 27, 1935 in Monroe, Louisiana to the late Helen (Bryant) and John H. Hobbs. He died Sunday, August 21, 1011 in a Lufkin hospice facility.
Mr. Hobbs had resided in Lufkin most of his life. He was retired from the papermill following 40 years of service. Mr. Hobbs was a United States Army Veteran, honorably discharged in 1961 with service in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of St. Paul?s United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Suzanne Hobbs of Atlanta, Texas; grandson, Robert Hobbs; brother, Henry (Skippy) Hobbs; extended family members, Jody and Debbie Anderson, Judy and Keith Carrell, and Billy and Carol Anderson; and extended grandchildren, Brad, Alicia, Lindsay and Will Anderson, and Cole and Blacey Bolton.
He was preceded in death by wives, Mary Frances Hobbs and Joy Lanell Hobbs.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Ave., Lufkin, Texas 75904.
