Elna Pauline Due

Funeral services for Elna Pauline Due, 86, of Nogalus Prairie will be held Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Jim McDonald and Kyle Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Nogalus Prairie.

Ms. Due was born January 23, 1925 in the Crecy Community, Trinity County, Texas to the late Lucy Jane (Parker) and Emmett Patton Due, and died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at her residence.

Ms. Due resided in Trinity County most of her life. She retired from Woodland Heights Medical Center, Food Services, following 15 years of employment. Ms. Due loved gardening, sewing and cooking, and her specialty was chicken and dumplings. She was a member of Loop 287 Church of Christ and currently attended Centralia Church of Christ.

Survivors include her sisters, Norma Jane Due of Nogalus Prairie and Glynn Alice Due Davis of Hudson; nephews, Neal Ray Due of Possum Walk, Roger Davis and wife Denise of Hudson and Myron Due and wife Dee of Possum Walk; nieces, Treina Martin and husband Jerry of Friday, Karen Lawrence and husband James of Hudson and Celia Gonzalez and husband Margarito of Possum Walk; and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Due was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Melba Due; brother-in-law, James Ray Davis; niece, Sheila Pyle; and special aunt, Callie Davis.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Lawrence, Brad Lawrence, Ryan Lawrence, Drew Davis, Myron Due and James Lawrence.

Honorary pallbearers will be Neal Ray Due, Roger Davis, Kenneth Jones, Ethan Lawrence, Jason Lawrence, Jerry Martin and Margarito Gonzalez.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Cemetery Association, 1011 Spur 357, Kennard, Texas 75847.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
