Naomi Chitwood Beck

Funeral services for Naomi Chitwood Beck, 87, of Lufkin will be held Monday, September 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lufkin First Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Henry Mills and Dr. Wayne Stallings officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mrs. Beck was born August 23, 1924 in Jacksonville, Texas to Aline (Childress) and Young Flint Chitwood, and died Saturday, September 3, 2011 in a local hospital. She was a member of the Lufkin First Church of the Nazarene and had resided in Lufkin since 1930.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years, C L Beck of Lufkin; son, Michael Beck of Pasadena; daughters, Brenda Prejean of Beaumont and Sheila Seaman of Huntington; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Aline Chitwood; father, Y.F. Chitwood; sisters, Thelma Fanette and Juanita Anderson; and brother, Joe Clark Chitwood.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Prejean, Gary Seaman, Matthew Beck, Giles Sigler, Bobby Meche, Jeremy Hinton and Raul Lopez.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 West Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
