Darrell Maxon

Graveside services for Darrell E. Maxon, 67, of Huntington will be held Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in the Homer Cemetery with Brother Karl Smith and Brother Jesse Turner officiating.

Mr. Maxon was born August 17, 1944 in Piqua, Ohio to Cinda (Perry) and August Maxon, and died Sunday, October 16, 2011 in a Houston hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Angelina County.

Mr. Maxon served with the U.S. Navy Seabees. He was a carpenter, and enjoyed woodcrafts, including building wooden toys and clocks. He was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife, Paula Smith of Huntington; sons, Larry Maxon and wife Shelly and Darrell Maxon, Jr., all of Longview; daughter, Tonya Womack and husband Luke of Huntington; stepdaughters, Amber Rios and husband Edgar and Kimberly Salazar and Raul Moran, all of Dallas; 12 grandchildren; brother, Doug Maxon of Huntington; sisters, Delores Johnson and husband Harold of Londonderry, Ohio, Lovevon Durham and husband George and Angela Gibson and husband Jerry, all of Huntington; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Maxon was preceded in death by his mother, Cinda Havard; and brother, Tom Maxon.

Pallbearers will be Rocky Hollingsworth, Jeffery Maxon, Aaron Hoke, Darron Hoke, C.W. Goeyns and Salvador Rivera.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Wednesday morning at the funeral home.
