W.L. Morehead

Funeral services for W.L. ""Tot"" Morehead, 79, of Huntington will be held Monday, November 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery.

Mr. Morehead was born November 10, 1932 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Lena Beatrice (Anderson) and Archie Morehead, and died Friday, November 25, 2011 in a local hospital.

Mr. Morehead was a lifetime resident of Huntington. He served in the U.S. Army and was the manager of Boots Grocery for many years. He had a love for music, his time with his morning coffee buddies, domino sessions, his job, and long country rides. Mr. Morehead was of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Dale Dodson of Ratcliff; grandchildren and spouses, Kelli and Adam Pilkington of Ratcliff, Rachel and Morgan Inman of Brookeland, Misty Dodson, Jade Dodson and Nick Dodson, all of Ratcliff; great-grandchildren, Averie Elizondo, Ace Garbe, Lexi Pilkington, Ryan Pilkington and Beaux Inman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Janet Morehead of Lufkin, Boots and Jackie Morehead, W.J. and Hazel Morehead, all of Huntington and LaMorris and Maxine Morehead of Rocky Hill; sisters and brother-in-law, Phynice Fuller of Orange and Faye and John Pollino of Rocky Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Morehead was preceded in death by his brothers, Prentiss Morehead and Verble Morehead; and sister, Myrle McCoy.

Pallbearers will be Scott Morehead, Morris Morehead, Morgan Inman, Adam Pilkington, Charles Colwell, David Thomas and Rory Lowery.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
