Funeral services for Ruby Hartsfield McCormick, 88, of Huntington, will be held Monday, December 19, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Reverend Bob Baggett and Father Paul McCormick, a grandson, officiating. Visitation will follow from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the Huntington funeral home.
Graveside services for Mrs. McCormick will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in the Cleveland City Cemetery on Peach Street in Cleveland, Texas.
Mrs. McCormick was born December 15, 1923, in Loretta, Tennessee, to the late Clementine (Hill) and William E. Hartsfield. She died Sunday, December 18, 2011 in a Lufkin nursing facility.
Mrs. McCormick had resided in the Lufkin/Huntington area most of her life. She was the retired owner of Acme Glass and Plumbing Company, as well as an avid antique dealer. Mrs. McCormick had also been a pastor's wife, and sang all across the country. She was a member of The Church at Lufkin.
Survivors include her stepson, Floyd McCormick of Beaumont; stepdaughter, Peggy McIntyre of Vidor; sister, Margie McMullen of Lufkin; a number of grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Floyd ""Mac"" McCormick; three brothers; and four sisters.
