Harold Stone

Funeral services for Harold D. Stone, 79, of Huntington, will be held Monday, January 30, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Adrian Neal and Brother Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Center Cemetery.
Mr. Stone was born May 23, 1932, in Cherokee County, Texas, to the late Sally (Waller) and Leonard Stone. He died Friday, January 27, 2012 at his residence.
Mr. Stone had resided in Huntington most of his life. He was a retired logger and a member of Oak Flat Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Stone was a United States Army veteran. His favorite pastime was fishing.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Katrina Stone of Huntington, Rhonda and Jimmy Carnes of Lufkin; sons, Michael Stone of Huntington, John Stone of Lufkin; five grandchildren, Jennifer Maxson, Matt Carnes, Chad Carnes, Noah Carnes and Cameron Stone; thirteen great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Cora Sue Stone of Huntington; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Mr. Stone was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean Stone; son, Greg Stone; and sister, Louise Hines.
Pallbearers will be Matt Carnes, Chad Carnes, Kip Stone, Terry Stone, Brad Stone, Junior Hines and Gary Gee.
Honorary pallbearer will be Darrell Hines.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
