Funeral services for Earlene Miles Burns, 57, of Zavalla, will be held Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Reverend Virginia Harrison and Reverend Kirbbie Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in the Zavalla Cemetery.
Mrs. Burns was born May 31, 1955, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Bertha (Courtney) and William Richard Miles. She died Thursday, May 31, 2012 in a Lufkin hospital.
Mrs. Burns had resided in Zavalla all her life. She was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her husband, D.D. Burns of Zavalla; son, Michael Bryan of Zavalla; daughters, Michelle Smith and husband Brett, Misty Bryan and fiancé Steven Buell, all of Zavalla; four grandchildren, Kaylie Mitchell, Nicholas Mitchell, Riley Brumbalow and Abigail Smith; stepsons and daughters-in-law, Louis and Becky Burns of San Antonio, Darriel and Jerrilyn Burns of Zavalla; three step-grandchildren, Ryan Burns, Witney Burns and Cameron Burns; brothers, William Miles, Richard Miles, Don Miles and Dale Ray Townsend, all of Zavalla; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sharon and Ray Jones of Bronson, Annie and Berlin Bryan of Huntington, Stacy and Kenneth Coulter of Zavalla; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Preceding Mrs. Burns in death were her son, Kevin Bryan, and grandson, Cody Mallicoat.
Pallbearers will be Richard Miles, Don Miles, Dale Ray Townsend, Louis Burns, Darriel Burns, Berlin Bryan, Chaston Townsend and Dustin Coulter.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Burns' grandsons and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 212 Gene Samford Dr., Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
