Bob Roberts

Memorial services for Bob Roberts, 72, of Huntington will be held Saturday, August 25, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Cleve Sharp and Brother Marc Sheldon officiating. A reception will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Huntington First Baptist Church Family Life Center. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Roberts was born July 16, 1940 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Bill and Alice (Steele) Roberts, and died Monday, August 20, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mr. Roberts resided in Huntington most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army and retired as Branch Manager from Applied Industrial Technologies. Mr. Roberts was an avid golfer and member of the Neches Pines Golf Club. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Ruby Roberts of Huntington; sons and daughter-in-law, Randy Allen of Trinity, Kenny Allen of Lufkin, and Cliff and Mandi Roberts of Huntington; daughter, Rebecca Roberts of Lufkin; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Norris and Ouida Roberts of Tomball; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his son, Carl Wayne Allen; sister, Clauda Tinsley; and brother-in-law, Lamar Tinsley.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Jerry Spinks, Dr. B. Randall Blakestead, Dr. Kevin Hudson, Dr. Hunter Looney, and Dr. Derry Meyer, nurses, Sandra Buckley, Deana Wilde, Tammy Barkley, Cynthia Collins, and Sherry Donnell, the Little Boots Crew, and the Spit and Whittle Gang.
