H.L. Marshall

Funeral services for H.L. ""Red"" Marshall, 77, of Zavalla will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Reverend Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Boykin Cemetery.

Mr. Marshall was born December 14, 1934 in San Augustine County, Texas to the late Prentice and Lottie (Lackey) Marshall, and died Monday, September 3, 2012 at his residence. He resided in Zavalla most of his life and was a plant manager for Dresser Industries for 25 years. Mr. Marshall was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Marshall of Zavalla; son and daughter-in-law, Hollis and Betty Marshall of Huntington; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Marilyn Ford of Lufkin and John Henry and Altie Ford of San Augustine County; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and Joe Johnson of Lufkin and Joyce and Larry Clamon of Livingston; special nephews, Troy Marshall of Warren and Mark Marshall of McAllen; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his sons, Randy Marshall in 2000 and Tony Marshall in 2006; grandson, Colton Marshall in 2008; brothers, Gilbert Marshall and Glentis Marshall; and special nephew, Clifton Marshall. He lost his daughter, Vicki Lynn Howard, in 1990.

Pallbearers will be Jason Lowery, Rory Lowery, George Cryer, Jr., Troy Weaver, Michael Hawley and Lynn Courtney.

Honorary pallbearers will be Delbert Jones, Elvin ""Buddy"" Lowery and Johnny Leviness.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
