Funeral services for Daniel Derrick Cano, 26, of Huntington will be held Monday, September 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Dr. Darryl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Daniel was born May 21, 1986 in Galveston, Texas to Johnny and Kisha (Smith) Cano, and died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 in a local hospital. A former resident of Beaumont, he had resided in Huntington for six years. Daniel was an avid football fan and loved the Cowboys. He attended the Huntington First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Kayse of Huntington; daughter, Hope of Huntington; mother and stepfather, Kisha and Tommy Stewart of Huntington; father and stepmother, Johnny and Amanda Cano of Elwood, Indiana; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mario Cano of Houston, Michael and Shelby Cano of Huntington and William Cano of Elwood, Indiana; grandparents, Joe and Barbara Rivera of Beaumont, Paul and JoAnn Stewart of Silsbee, and Sherry Smith of Gonzalez, Louisiana; uncles and aunts, Tim and Annette Rivera of Dallas, Alecia and Rene Cardenas of Huntington, Paul and Liz Smith of Shreveport, Louisiana, Leslie Smith of Gonzalez, Louisiana, Billie and Jamie Isbell of Virginia, Crystal Rivera of Beaumont, Mary Alice Carrion, and Gloria Espanoza; cousins, Evonna Yarborough of Huntington, Veronica Cardenas and Jessica Cardenas, both of Lufkin, and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Billy Smith, and grandmother, Rita Cano.
Pallbearers will be Rene Cardenas, Shane Davison, Brandon Yarborough, Michael Cano, Mario Cano and Tommy Stewart.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington First Baptist Church ""Most Excellent Way"" Fund, P.O. Drawer E, Huntington, Texas 75949.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
