Ella Wise

Graveside services for Ella Mae Wise, 74, of Zavalla will be held Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Barge Cemetery.

Mrs. Wise was born May 20, 1938 in Zavalla, Texas to the late Ida Mae (Barge) and James Henry Barfield, Sr., and died Friday, September 28, 2012 in a local nursing home. She was a lifetime resident of Zavalla. Mrs. Wise was an active member of the Peach Creek Baptist Church, where she taught GA's and helped with Vacation Bible School.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Denita and Tom Ross of Zavalla, Sandy Lightfoot of New Caney and Diane Wade of Arkansas; sons and daughter-in-law, Dwaine and Michelle Wise and Eddie Wise, all of New Caney; granddaughter, Eugenia Shouten of New Caney; 11 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Genevieve and Dale Carter of Zavalla; brother and sister-in-law, Darl and Sylvia Barfield of Baltimore, Maryland; sisters-in-law, Verdie Barnes and Margie Stringer, both of Zavalla; brother-in-law, Fulton Wise of Zavalla; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wise was preceded in death by her husband, David Eldon Wise; and brother, James Henry Barfield, Jr.
