Funeral services for Doris Freeman King, 68, of Huntington will be held Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother James McKenzie officiating. Interment will follow in the Ben Walker Cemetery.
Mr. King was born September 28, 1944 in Houston, Texas to the late Berry Freeman and Myrtle Almena (Hicks) King, and died Monday, October 8, 2012 in a local hospital. A former resident of Conroe, he had resided in Huntington for six years.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Patrick Havard of Huntington; stepson, Tony Milner of Onalaska; grandchildren, Shantelle King, Ashley Robinson, James Robinson, Jr., Doris Robinson, all of Huntington, Mandy Milner, Angel Milner, and Toni Milner; great-grandchildren, Braylyn Hamilton and Braxton Eaves, both of Huntington; sisters, Bonnie Bice, Lita Casanover and Rumell Nicholus; brother, Frank King; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Manuel King; and sister, Rosie Vineyard.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
