Joseph Herrington

Memorial services for Joseph Otis Herrington, Jr., 84, of Zavalla, will be held Monday, October 22, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Pastor Charlie Herrington officiating. Inurnment graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Herrington Cemetery.
Mr. Herrington was born January 4, 1928 in the Ora Community of Angelina County, Texas to the late Mamie (Thomas) and Joseph Otis Herrington, Sr. He died Friday, October 19, 2012, in a Lufkin hospital.
Mr. Herrington was a resident of the Zavalla/Huntington area, and had lived in the Houston area while working. He was a retired longshoreman. Mr. Herrington loved cooking and gardening. His specialties were Texas Redneck hot sauce and jalapeno jelly.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Glenda Mathis of Lubbock, Texas, Barbara and Lee Roberts of Hitchcock, Texas, Mary and Drew Yanock of Woodville, Texas, Paulette and Gregg Blake of Marble Falls, Texas, Patricia Coffin of Deer Park, Texas, and Joseph and Sylvia Herrington of Portland, Texas; grandchildren and their spouses, Jeff McClure, Michael and Jenny Flinn, Tynalea and Rafael Barreto, Vanessa Yanock, Darlene Yanock, Sunita and Jimmy Coursey, Chase and Alexis Stockton, Shane and Louise Blake, Brooke and Austin Drake, Whitney Blake, Krissa Coffin, Nick Coffin, Crystal Herrington, Joseph Herrington and Joshua Herrington; and great grandchildren, Alexis Flinn, Evan Barretto, Mason Coursey, Gabriella Stockton, Gary Stockton, Addison Drake, and Andrew Herrington.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12 Noon until 1:00 p.m. Monday immediately prior to the service at the funeral home in Huntington.
