Memorial services for Danita Messer, 63, of Huntington will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Jim Myers officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Ms. Messer was born December 21, 1949 in Beaumont, Texas to the late Jean (Eager) and David Messer. She passed away Friday, January 11, 2013 at her residence.
Ms. Messer had been employed as a bookkeeper for Dean's Meat Market for six years. She liked to skydive, loved her animals, and loved going to the lake. Ms. Messer attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Tessa Messer of Richlands, North Carolina; son, Thomas Fielder of Texas; brothers, Stacy Jeambert of California, David Messer, Danny Messer, and Ron Moon, all of Georgia; sisters, Dana Messer Teti, Dawn Messer Willis, both of Georgia, and Jan Moon Chubb of North Carolina; special aunt, Barbara Woodrum of Huntington; aunt, Rena Modisette of Huntington; uncles, Sonny Lewis of Huntington and Darwin Lewis of North Carolina; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Jeannine Collier and Gayleen Woodrum.
