Memorial services for James Webster “Webb” Jenkins, 67, of Lufkin will be held at a date and time to be announced in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Goodwin officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Jenkins was born October 31, 1953 in Lufkin, Texas to Maxine (Jones) and James Archie Jenkins, and died Thursday, August 5, 2021 in Lufkin.

Mr. Jenkins was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He graduated from Lufkin High School in 1972 and Stephen F. Austin State University with a BBA in 1977. His career began with Lufkin Federal Savings & Loan in 1982. Webb became a Real Estate Appraiser in 1982. From 1984-1987 he was a Senior Real Estate Appraiser. He was self-employed from 1991-2006 and was affiliated with Jake Lyons Real Estate Appraisers from 2006-2015. Webb was currently employed by Jordan Services.

Mr. Jenkins was an active member of Lufkin Lions Club as well as the Lufkin Jaycees. He enjoyed his time spent with both the Coston Boys as well as the Neches-Hilton Boys where he will be truly missed.

Mr. Jenkins was known for his smile and gentle spirit. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather (known as “JPop”), and particularly adored and enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren. He was a loving son who was a gracious caregiver for his mother.

Mr. Jenkins was a member of First United Methodist Church of Diboll.

Survivors include his mother, Maxine Jenkins of Lufkin; wife, Carol (Smith) Jenkins of Lufkin; daughter, Meridith Jenkins and fiancé Jose Solorio of Diboll; stepson, Wes Bryant of New Orleans; grandchildren, Jace and Everleigh; and a number of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Jenkins; and wife, Susan (Trout) Jenkins.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Winnie Berry Humane Society of Angelina County, 1102 N John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105, or a charity of your choice.
