Otto Smith Iii

Graveside services for Otto Smith III, 57, of Lufkin will be held Monday, June 1, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Alva Lynn officiating.

Mr. Smith was born February 12, 1963 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Dovie Estelle (Hall) and Otto Smith, Jr., and died Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Smith was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and had been employed with Borden Dairy and Pearman Motors. He loved the outdoors and loved fishing with his parents and family. He was known for his skills on the grill, especially his steak and brisket. Mr. Smith was a “people person” and enjoyed a good conversation. He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Trent Collins of Lufkin; granddaughter, Brinley Collins of Lufkin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and John Langford of Lufkin, Donna and Bob Gantt of Harker Heights; niece and husband, Deidra and James Williams of Harker Heights; mother of his only child, Kathy Brazzel of Huntington; and a number of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Oliver, Bob Pearman, Dickie Smith, Keith Moody, Ricky Sammons, and Barry Hamblett.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at Carroway Funeral Home.
