Maxine Stephens Holcombe

Graveside services for Maxine Stephens Holcombe, 86, of Hudson will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Largent Cemetery with Brother Bryan Lipscomb officiating.

Mrs. Holcombe was born October 23, 1933 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Rosia Lee (Scogin) and Charlie Tommy Stephens, and died Saturday, September 26, 2020 in a local hospice facility.

Mrs. Holcombe was a lifelong resident of Angelina County. She worked in the Personnel Department handling payroll for Texas Department of Transportation retiring after more than 30 years of service. She loved travelling, especially to Branson, and shopping. She enjoyed listening to all types of music. Church was very important to her and she was a member of Providence Baptist Church.  Maxine was very active and always kept her family on their toes. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who was fiercely devoted to her family.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Sandra Holcombe of Hudson; grandchildren and their spouses, Brad and Shawna Holcombe, Charlie Holcombe, all of Hudson, Misti and Tim Matthews of Central, Patricia Kessinger, Ashley and Keith Vinson, all of Hudson; great-grandchildren, Harley, Cody, Tyler, Melani, Joseph, Veronica, Brittney, Natalie, Kinlee, Kayden, Addison, Barley; great-great-grandchildren, Rustyn, Emma; sister-in-law, Melba; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Tommy Holcombe; son, Keith Holcombe; and brother, Earl Stephens.
