James "Jim" Neil Mcdougald

Graveside services for James “Jim” McDougald, 88, of Lufkin will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Darryl Bennett officiating.

James “Jim” McDougald went to be with our Lord Tuesday, September 7, 2021 in Lufkin, Texas. Born in Groveton, Texas July 7, 1933 to Jesse James and Lucille (Lancaster) McDougald, James spent his childhood enjoying the tall pines of East Texas.

James was a graduate of Lufkin High School and Sam Houston State University. He enlisted in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant, serving in Nuremberg, Germany and Fort Sill, Oklahoma. While stationed at Fort Sill, James married the love of his life, Linda Cook, June 1, 1957. He had a stellar career in sales working for Coty U.S., where he retired as Sr. Vice-President of Sales after 34 years of service. He was a mason with the Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669 A.F. & A.M. James was a member of First Christian Church Lufkin. He was a true blessing to all who knew him.

James is survived by his grandson, Jimmy Weaver of Rockwall; granddaughter, Jessie Weaver of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Linda McDougald; parents, Jesse James and Lucille McDougald; son, Charles Weaver; granddaughter, Elizabeth Weaver; and niece, Denise Beard.
