Funeral services for Donald “Donnie” McAdams, 72, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, December 6, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Wayne Roberson officiating and Mike Jones delivering the eulogy. Entombment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park Sunset Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at 4:00 p.m. after the service at The Silo, located at 206 E. Groesbeck Avenue in Lufkin.

Donnie was born May 3, 1946 in Lufkin, Texas, the son of the late Evelyn (Hanks) and Arvis McAdams. He died Monday, December 3, 2018 in Sugar Land, Texas.

Donnie grew up in Pollok and was a member of Central High School’s graduating class of 1964. He then attended Stephen F. Austin University. He was a loving father and grandfather. Donnie was a gifted landscaper and former owner of Berry’s Gardens. He had worked in the funeral service industry with Roy Carroway since 1981 and had been employed as a Funeral Director Assistant with Carroway Funeral Home for a number of years. He was a member of Redtown Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Beverly McAdams; daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Robert Moran of Sugar Land; daughter, Rebecca McAdams of Fort Worth; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Brittany McAdams of Conroe; grandsons, Shelby McAdams, Jordan Brady, Case McAdams and Liam McAdams (twins); great-granddaughters, Kaleigh McAdams, Gracelyn McAdams, and Addison Brady; brother, Hollis McAdams of Lufkin; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. McAdams was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, June McAdams.

Pallbearers will be Mike Jones, Mickey Youngblood, Bill Allen, Richard “Rick” Meadows, Roy Carroway, Jr. and Doug Russell.

Honorary pallbearers are Jack Gordon, Bob Lowery, Roy Dale Lewis, Todd Stracener and George Temple.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
