Betty Carolyn Musick

Funeral services for Betty C. Musick, 66, of Lufkin, will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Grace Baptist Church with Brother Vic Bass and Brother Elton Musick officiating. Interment will follow in Aldredge Cemetery.

Mrs. Musick was born August 21, 1950 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Myrtaline (Drennan) and John Allen. She went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Musick was retired from the Lufkin State School where she was an Art Teacher, following 28 years of service. She loved to sing and paint and also enjoyed doing woodwork. She sang doing prison ministry with her husband, Elton, as well as singing with a ladies group in local nursing homes. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Musick was a member of Grace Baptist Church and had lived in the Lufkin area all her life.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Elton Musick of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Jolyn and Ben Merritt of Huntington; son, Elton, Jr., and wife Ashley Musick of Lufkin; grandsons, Karson Smith, Dwayne Musick, and Jonathan Boney, all of Lufkin; granddaughters, Chasity Musick, Abbie Moore, both of Lufkin, and Harper Leigh; sisters, MaryJo Barge of Houston, Lillie Bean of Lufkin; brother, John Allen of Houston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Abb and JoAnn Allen of Houston, David and Debbie Allen of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Musick was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kelly Musick Smith; and brother, Robert Allen.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Allen, Rodney Allen, Darrell McClelland, Dennis McClelland, Kevin Wallace, and Dwayne Musick.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Grace Baptist Church.
