Edward Lee Kirkland

Funeral services for Edward Lee Kirkland, 49, of Huntington will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Bill Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Ozias Cemetery.

Mr. Kirkland was born October 10, 1967 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Thursday, March 23, 2017 in a local hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Huntington. He drove a log truck and then went to work for Lufkin Creosote Sawmill Division. Mr. Kirkland enjoyed fishing, making knives, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Cathy Kirkland of Huntington; mother, Minnie Lee (Barnett) Kirkland of Huntington; son and daughter-in-law, Jewell Bunk and Laura Butler of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Belinda Michelle and Jessie Radel of Huntington; son, Patrick Butler of Huntington; granddaughters, Savannah, Baylie and Averi Lynn; grandson, Caleb Wesley; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Alisa Kirkland of Huntington; nieces, Amy, Amber and Abby; parents-in-law, Doris and Floyd Adams of Livingston; sister of the heart, Lisa Buckner and husband Tony of Hudson; nieces of the heart, Crystal Sepulvado and husband Shane, Casey “Innertube” Arriola, and Callie Arriola; nephews of the heart, Jonathan Arriola and Chase Arriola; and numerous cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Kirkland; uncles and aunt, Curly and Sue Kirkland, James Barnett, George Crocker, and Jack Burris; and brother of the heart, John Ashmore.

Pallbearers will be Bunk Butler, Aaron McIntyre, Edward Bailey, Dale Kirkland, Stephen Powell, and Billy Kirkland.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stacy Boykin, Pablo, John Arriola, Shane Sepulvado, and Jessie Radel.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
