Carlos Hearne

Funeral services for Carlos Herman Hearne, 84, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Lamar Denby officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Center Cemetery.

Mr. Hearne was born November 12, 1928 in the Belott Community, Houston County, Texas to the late Carlos Halius and Blanche (Pentecost) Hearne, and died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at his residence. He had resided in Lufkin for more than 50 years.

Mr. Hearne enlisted in the Texas National Guard in Jackson County, Texas in 1949. He was a Highway Patrol Trooper for the Texas Department of Public Safety from 1954 to 1966, and also retired from the Texas Department of Human Services. Mr. Hearne was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Tanya Hearne of Huntington and Mark and Shirley Hearne of Lufkin; daughter, Connie Page of Lufkin; grandsons, Taylor Barkley of Lindale, Michael Hearne of Austin, Douglas Hearne of Chicago, Illinois, Kyle Hearne of San Marcus, Mark Page, Ricky Page, Joey Page of Huntington, Joshua Glover of Lufkin, Charles McGraw of Dallas, Thomas McGraw of Lufkin, Wes Fuller of Buna and Leslie Thomason of Liberty; granddaughters, Kimberly Rudolph of Edmond, Oklahoma, Amy Loecken, Ashley Hearne, Kristen Hearne of Huntsville, and Christy Hill of Comanche; 37 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 1/2 years, Maebelle Hearne; son-in-law, Robert Page; and brothers, Leo Hearne, Elmo Hearne and Don Hearne.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Page, Bobby Boles, Damon Waldron, Ricky Waldron, Charles Hearne and Kenny Christian.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
