Joe Lynn Ferguson

Visitation for Joe Lynn Ferguson, 81, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Ferguson was born November 21, 1932 in Woodson, Arkansas to George W. and Vida T. (McGhee) Ferguson, and died Thursday, August 21, 2014 in a local hospital.

Formerly of Jasper, Mr. Ferguson had resided in Angelina County for 17 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955 and was a lab technician at Jasper Memorial Hospital for 36 years. Mr. Ferguson raised and trained race horses. He loved spending time on his farm and with his family. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Johnny Due and Bonnie and Dustin Fore, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Tyler Due, Chloe Fore and Cassie Fore, all of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Bradley Wayne Due; and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
