Corbit Mosley, Jr.

Funeral services for Corbit Mosley, Jr., 67, of Lufkin will be held Monday, February 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Charles Roberts and Reverend Jeff Moats officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Mosley was born September 2, 1946 in Lufkin, Texas to Dorothy (Abernathy) and Thedford C. Mosley, Sr., and died Friday, February 14, 2014 in a local hospital.

Mr. Mosley was a lifetime resident of Lufkin. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a millwright at the paper mill in Lufkin for more than 25 years. He was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Nelda (Curry) Mosley of Lufkin; sons, Kenneth Mosley and wife Sarah of Apple Springs and Thed Mosley and fiancée Elaine Hanner of Pollok; grandchildren, Laura Hobbs and husband Ryan, Shelby Pouland and husband Brandon, Justin Mosley, Sam Mosley, Clayton Forrest and Sage Forrest; great-grandchildren, Lauryne Hobbs, Lakyne Hobbs and Bristol Pouland; sisters, Evelyn Havard and husband Danny of Lufkin and Winnie Lou Hammack and husband Kenneth of Livingston; brothers, William “Bill” Mosley and wife D’Lesa and Jerry Mosley and wife Lucia, all of Lufkin; nephews, Shane Mosley, Josh Mosley, Todd Hammack and Brandon Mosley; and nieces, Sabrina Childs, Hannah Wiggenton and Tisha McCarver.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Shane Mosley, Josh Mosley, Todd Hammack, Brandon Mosley, Kenneth Hammack and Danny Havard.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
