Eric Jason Willmon

Funeral services for Eric Jason Willmon, 41, of Hudson will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lufkin First Assembly of God Church with Brother Bryan Lipscomb and Micah Williams officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Eric was born January 6, 1971 in Lufkin, Texas to Don H. and Diane (Ward) Willmon, and died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in a Houston hospital. He was a lifetime resident of the Hudson area and had been an officer with the Lufkin Police Department for 11 years. Eric was a member of Providence Baptist Church.

Eric loved nature, hunting, cycling and spending time with his family. Eric was a devoted husband and father who loved God and family above all else. Stefani, Carter and Chloe hope to use this trial in life as a testimony of their faith in God. The family wishes to thank the community for the outpouring of love, prayer and support shown to them during Eric's illness.

Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Stefani Willmon of Hudson; son, Carter Don Willmon of Hudson; daughter, Chloe Willmon of Hudson; mother, Diane Willmon of Porter; sister, Carol Alexander of Porter; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronnie and Linda Stanbery of Lufkin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kristi and Donny Webb of Lufkin and Keri and Micah Williams of Hudson; nephews and nieces, Logan Webb of Lufkin, Britt and Calli Williams of Hudson, Austin, Adam and Aaron Alexander of Porter; special friends, James and Deanna Havard and Devin and Courtney Trotti; and numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don H. Willmon, who was killed in the line of duty; and grandparents, Raymond and Flora Lee Willmon and Thomas and Aletha Ward.

Pallbearers will be Devin Trotti, Brad Lawrence, Clay Vaneman, Kevin Jackson, Chris Carroll and Bubba Glawson.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Lufkin Police Department and Lufkin Fire Department.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Providence Baptist Church Building Fund, 4423 Ted Trout Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
