Allen B. Repp

Funeral services for Allen B. Repp, 95, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Elton Musick officiating. Interment will follow in the Shofner Cemetery.

Mr. Repp was born June 10, 1917 in Minden, Oklahoma to the late John and Helen (Harrison) Repp, and died Monday, November 19, 2012 in a local hospital. He had resided in Lufkin for 69 years.

Mr. Repp served in the U.S. Army as a medic during World War II. He retired from Lufkin Industries following 36 years of employment. Mr. Repp was a very hard worker. He worked as a crossing guard for several years after he retired. He was a great carpenter, and loved to working with wood and his hands. He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. and enjoyed volunteering at his church. He was a founding member of Grace Baptist Church. Mr. Repp loved his family and grandkids.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Lynn Repp of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Jerry Forrest of Clute; daughter, Wanda Gayle Repp of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, John Gary and Cathie Repp of Rocky Hill; daughter, Judy Kay Repp of Lufkin; grandchildren, Kelly Forrest Dawson and husband Brad, Missy and husband Danny Phillips, John Garland and wife Misty Repp, Chris and wife Amber Forrest, Jenna and husband Cameron Kurvin, Bryan and wife Christa Shiflet, Ira Shiflet, and Shawn Shiflet; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia P. Repp; four brothers; and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Chris Forrest, Bryan Shiflet, Ira Shiflet, Shawn Shiflet, Cameron Kurvin and Louis Beam, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Garland Repp, Danny Phillips, Brad Dawson and Phillip Beam.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
