Nettie Spinks Wade Mcfarland

Funeral services for Nettie Spinks Wade McFarland, 66, of Etoile will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Willie Wade officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Oddfellows Cemetery.

Mrs. McFarland was born March 27, 1945 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Pearline (Harvey) and Clarence Jefferson Spinks. She died Sunday, September 11, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. McFarland formerly had been employed as a switchboard operator at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center for nine years. She attended Salem Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. McFarland had lived at Etoile for the past 16 years, and previously resided in Lufkin and Huntington.

Mrs. McFarland was an avid fisherman and hunter. She was a charter member of the Rayburn Anglerettes. She lived her life for her husband, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening and taking care of her flowers and plants.

She is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Gary McFarland of Etoile; daughter and son-in-law, Denise Wade Treadaway and Royce Treadaway of Huntington; grandchildren and their spouses, Timfany and Mike Garcia, Kasey and Shelby Bryan, Zac and Elaina Treadaway, and Destini and Jake Hicks; seven great-grandchildren; parents-in-law, James and Mary E. McFarland Good of Austin; sisters and brother-in-law, Frances Bashore, Debbie and Rick White, all of Lufkin; brothers and sister-in-law, Roy and Shirley Spinks of Center and David Pinner of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. McFarland was also preceded in death by her daughter, Alishia Wade Buster; sisters, Mae Stanaland and Marie Dwire; and brothers, Jimmie Spinks and Ray Spinks.

Pallbearers will be Brady Plunkett, Bronson Dwire, David Skeeters, Franky Skeeters, Donnie McFarland, Bruce McFarland, Brent McFarland and Brian McFarland.

Honorary pallbearers are John Spinks, Adam McFarland, Mace McFarland, Roy Spinks, Jr., Ben Dwire, Roy Wade and Bruce Wade.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
