Ollie V. (Runnels) Durham

Funeral services for Ollie V. Runnels Durham, 96, of Huntington will be held Friday, May 29, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Dr. Darryl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.

Mrs. Durham was born June 13, 1918 in the Ora Community of Huntington, Texas to Jesse F. Runnels and Mary Ellender (Cruse) Runnels, and died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in Huntington.

Mrs. Durham was a lifelong resident of Huntington and a member of Huntington First Baptist Church. She retired from the Lufkin State School.

Survivors include daughters, La Wanna Gainer and Charlotte Nowels, both of Huntington; step-daughter, Mary Neal and husband J.W. of Lufkin; three grandchildren, Danette and Curtis Shoemaker of Pollok, Jo Anne and Ben Wilroy of Huntington, and David and Stacie Nowels of Mustang, Oklahoma; three great-grandchildren, Forest and Lauren Shoemaker, Richard Wilroy and John Wilroy; numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Garleatha Nerren and Nina Wade.
She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters; three brothers and sons-in-law, Joe Gainer and Gary Nowels.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Ben Wilroy, Curtis Shoemaker, Mike English, Forest Shoemaker, Richard Wilroy and John Wilroy.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday afternoon at the funeral home in Huntington.
