Funeral services for Colten “Colt” Lawrence, 20, of Hudson will be held Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Kent Hill officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery.

Colt was born August 7, 1993 in Lufkin, Texas, and died Friday, December 27, 2013 in Angelina County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Colt was a graduate of Hudson High School’s Class of 2011. He was working as a heavy equipment operator for S&C Recycling. Colt loved animals and loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He loved his many friends, and enjoyed listening to his music. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and had lived in Hudson all his life.

Survivors include his parents, Steve and Carolyn Lawrence of Hudson; sister, Cecilia N. Lawrence of Houston; brother, Josh Lawrence of Lufkin; sister, Stephanie D. Lawrence of Lufkin; paternal grandparents, Winston and Vada Lawrence of Lufkin, Fonda and Jimmy Torrez of Rock Springs; maternal grandmother, Jessie Bell Johnson of Lufkin; uncles and aunts, Gary and Sharon Lawrence of Moscow, David and Louise Johnson of Lufkin, James and Suzy Johnson of Forest, Jessie Mae Johnson of Lufkin, Linda Johnson of Lufkin, Bobby and Janet Johnson of Lufkin, Rene and Wayne Price of Rockport, Ruth and Raymond Adams of Lufkin, and Dillon and Patty Johnson of Pollok; as well as numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.

Colt was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, David Luke Johnson; uncle, Thomas E. Johnson; and cousin, Clayton Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Jack Farmer, Jeremy Largent, Clint Lee, Cade Crawford, Christopher Johnson, Jessie Bates, and Roger Schroder.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Winnie Berry Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 472, Lufkin, Texas 75902.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home.
